For this project, I worked with a classmate to interview them and learn more about them. I then took that information and created a "self-portrait" that captured the visual characteristics, passions and interests my partner felt defined their identity. My partner's name started with an 'N', and I also learned that they liked sneakers and watching YouTube. They also shared that they liked to stay up late and wake up early.

The focus was on bold, simple shapes and figure-ground relationships. 

I started with a sneaker-shaped design. I was able to incorporate an 'N' to symbolize their name as well as represent the brand New Balance of sneakers. I also integrated the YouTube logo on the tongue of the shoe to represent her interest in watching YouTube. Lastly, I was able to use small sun and moon icons as eyelets for the shoes.
